If a group were to kill many politicians, they be murders today...yet they weren't during 1775?

If revolutionaries are caught, they are indeed tried as criminals. Whether they are criminals, or founding fathers depends on who wins the revolution. BTW, I will wager that you can identify not a single politician who was killed by colonial troops in the American revolution. Go ahead, try it. See? Not even one.
