How much would I need to save up for a trip to Rome Italy for two?

I am making it a goal to go to Italy with my boyfriend one day. How much would it cost for everything to go? Plane to and back (from US), hotel, food and transportation? I just want an idea of how much I want to save up for this future endeavor!
